Sober Living in Hobe Sound, FL

Hobe Sound will put you back in touch with nature and its wide range of benefits.

Studies have shown that nature can reduce stress and anxiety, put you in a better mood, reduce depression, even make you kinder, more generous and more creative as well as improve your cognitive ability.

In analyzing 140 studies on the effects of nature, researchers found that living close to or spending time in natural green spaces can reduce blood pressure, stress and heart rate – as well as the risk of heart disease, type II diabetes, and premature death. It can also cause you to sleep longer. Take advantage of all of Hobe Sound’s natural beauty to recharge and revitalize.

Employment Opportunities

According to Indeed.com, as of March 2019, there are 37 job openings in Hobe Sound, from retail sales associate to maintenance technician, and from construction laborer to concierge. With its close proximity to the intracoastal and the Atlantic Ocean, there are plentiful marine opportunities as well.

Sober Fun

Sixteen distinct-yet-entirely-natural communities spanning 11,500 acres make up the must-see Jonathan Dickinson state park. You’ll find scrub forests, upland lakes, coastal sand hills as well as the Loxahatchee River. Here, you’ll also discover a secret WWII training camp and the 1930s homestead of Trapper Nelson, the “Wild Man of the Loxahatchee.”

You can hike, bike (both paved and off-road), canoe, and kayak through the park as well. Fishing is a favorite local activity here, or you can go horseback riding, paddling, roller blading, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming, surfing, and tubing, too. Take time out for a boat tour or wander through the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center.

On the barrier island, Blowing Rocks Preserve provides views of a natural, rocky limestone beach – great for snorkeling! Blowing Rocks Preserve has the largest limestone formations on the eastern United States coast. After winter storms (or during “extreme” high tides), the seas have been known to break against the rocks, forcing the saltwater up as high as 50 feet. Because one square mile has been persevered, you can see also both the Atlantic coast and the Indian River Lagoon on the other side.

There’s also swimming, surfing and sunbathing at the guarded Hobe Sound public beach.
