Employment Opportunities

Port St. Lucie’s three hospitals, urgent care centers, and countless physician offices offer opportunities for employment as well. Manufacturing jobs can be found at Tropicana Products, a major fruit juice manufacturer, Tamco, and Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company, all located within St. Lucie County.
The city is also home to several call center companies such as Teleperformance which provide jobs to local residents as well.
With over 150 restaurants and dozens of retail chains as well as smaller mom-and-pop stores, Port St. Lucie offers a range of shopping, eating, and employment opportunities.
The close proximity of Indian River State College makes getting an education convenient and easy. As a state college, tuition, books and fees are more affordable and accessible for most.
Sober Fun
First, there is the beach! Port St. Lucie is convenient to beautiful white-sand beaches, both at the north end on Hutchinson Island and just south, in Jensen Beach. Here, you can surf, swim, go for a walk, or just soak up the rays.
There are also many other opportunities – along with great, sunny weather – to enjoy the outdoors.
Commune with nature along the many hiking trails at Oxbow Eco-Center, located on a 225-acre serene, forested preserve hugging the St. Lucie River. See beautiful winged creatures up close in the butterfly garden at Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, or embark on a moonlight kayak or a canoe trip at the Savannas Preserve State Park. You can enjoy a long list of experiences at the Savannas, including mountain biking, roller blading, scuba diving, tubing, horseback riding, and so much more.
Indoor options for entertainment include SuperplayUSA, with bowling lanes, a full arcade, laser tag, batting cages and mini-golf onsite. You can also satisfy any appetite you may work up at the Premium Sports Grill, a full-service restaurant located inside the entertainment center.
Use your investigative skills and have a blast at the Escape Room PSL, or visit Flying Panda, for an “ultimate extreme air experience.” Sail through the air on a trapeze and land in a bed of foam, navigate the Ninja Obstacle Course, participate in extreme dodgeball, check out the Waterfall Trampolines, and more at this indoor trampoline center. Or, catch a movie at the Carmike, minutes from Port St. Lucie sober homes.
If you are here in February and March, you can see a Mets spring training game at First Data Field baseball stadium. There are minor league games at other times of the year. Be sure to bring lunch and a blanket for the grassy picnic area. If you’re looking for a game of hoops, you will find lighted basketball courts at the nearby Sportsman Park. Because of the temperate weather, you will find outdoor festivals and events held year-round.
A short drive away are the Tree Top Trek in Melbourne and the Rapids Water Slides in Riviera Beach, Florida. The central location of TransitionsGateway halfway houses means that you can also take a day trip to visit Universal Studios and Walt Disney World, just two hours north of your doorstep.
